Rwanda scheme 'will do the job', says legal migration minister

Tom Pursglove, who was appointed minister for legal migration on Thursday, has insisted that the government's Rwanda policy is "robust" and "will do the job".

Asked about comments from lawyers that Rishi Sunak's plan risks failure, Mr Pursglove told Sky News: "I believe this will do the job."

He added: "The legislation closes off so many of the grounds that people have come forward with in raising claims in being sent to Rwanda initially.
