UK net migration could hit one million

Net migration figures, due to be released on Thursday, could show that up to one million people people arrived in the UK during the last year.

Professor Brian Bell of the Migration Advisory Committee says "it is dangerous to focus on the inflow" of migrants in the numbers, as the majority do not become a permanent element of UK population figure.
