Shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves says the Labour Party "stands by the people of Israel" after the country was attacked by Hamas militants.

Ms Reeves then spoke about the UK economy, saying "we have to turn this around" and she is under no illusion about "the scale of the challenge that we would inherit if I had the privilege of becoming chancellor of the exchequer next year".
