Hawaiian officials say six people are confirmed dead and at least two dozen others injured due to the wildfires on the Island of Maui.

Fire was widespread in Lahaina Town, including on Front Street, a popular shopping and dining area.

The influence of Hurricane Dora to the south of the islands and a strong ridge of high pressure to the north is also fueling the dangerous wildfires.
