Officials in Hawaii confirmed 36 people have died as a result of the devastating Lahaina wildfire near Maui. 19,000 homes, businesses, and other buildings have been destroyed as a result of the fire. Thousands of residents and tourists have fled the area with many taking flights to the mainland.
The influence of Hurricane Dora to the south of the islands and a strong ridge of high pressure to the north is also fueling the dangerous wildfires.
