Chancellor says 'plan is working' after inflation drop

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has given his initial reaction to the news of the slight fall in the rate of inflation.

In a statement, Mr Hunt said the figures show "the plan to deal with inflation is working - plain and simple".

He went on: "But it is still too high which is why it is all the more important to stick to our plan to halve it so we can ease the pressure on families and businesses."
