Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has offered a defiant message to the head of the International Monetary Fund whom he met in Washington DC.

Mr Hunt predicts that the UK economy will bounce back from sluggish economic growth, while also hoping that his gamble of resisting public sector pay rises will also pay off.
