Welcome back to our live coverage of the Israel-Hamas war.

Gaza's Al Shifa hospital has been the subject of a siege from Israeli forces - with the lives of hundreds of patients, including dozens of newborn babies.

Amid a stream of harrowing accounts and desperate pleas from doctors inside the hospital, Joe Biden has delivered perhaps his most exacting words in relation to Israel's actions since the onset of violence following the 7 October Hamas attacks.

Al Shifa has been without electricity and water for three days, with gunfire and bombings outside the compound making the situation more difficult.

And in an Oval Office address, the US president said the hospital "must be protected".
