Welcome back to our live coverage of the Israel-Gaza conflict.

Smoke clouds have already been seen rising above Gaza's skyline this morning, as Israel's offensive in the northern border region continues.

Flares were seen lighting up the sky before dawn over the enclave.

It marked the day after Israeli forces raided al Shifa hospital in Gaza City, where they claimed to have found weapons and "terror infrastructure" belonging to Hamas.

The militant group called the claims "blatant lies" and propaganda.

Overnight, US President Joe Biden said he had made it clear to Israel that a two-state solution was the only way to resolve the conflict, and warned that occupying Gaza would be a "big mistake".
