The U.S. and allies carried out air strikes against Iran-backed Houthis targets in Yemen in response to ongoing attacks in the Red Sea.

President Joe Biden authorized the overnight strikes in Yemen.

Leaders of the Houthi rebels warn that the airstrikes carried out against them will "not go unanswered or unpunished."
