The blue supermoon could raise tides as Idalia continues to slam the southeast with rain and wind.

The moon was closest to the Earth on Wednesday, the same day Idalia made landfall as a major Category 3 hurricane in Florida. It’s expected to make the storm surge and tidal flooding worse in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
