Justin Madders, the Shadow Employment Minister, criticised Home Secretary Suella Braverman for considering the use of electronic tagging to control migrants who come to the UK illegally.

He said the "gimmick" won't deal with the problem and that: "The only people you tag are criminals - my understanding is that people coming to this country seeking asylum are not criminals."
