Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation, has told Sky News that there are clearly "genuine issues" that underlie the industrial action.

As Royal College of Nursing staff at around 100 trusts have started a 28-hour walkout, Mr Taylor said: "We will cope with today, but it will be difficult."
