The NHS Staff Council are yet to hear reports from unions to decide whether to accept the government's offer of a 5% pay rise and cash sum for last year.

Having recently balloted hundreds of thousands of health workers, members of the Royal College of Nursing and Unite have rejected the offer.

Unite senior spokesperson Sarah Carpenter, said "we don't want to put the public in danger" but it could "potentially be the case" that continued strike action will be planned.
