Sir Keir Starmer says that Labour will be "the change people desperately need", after his party's victory in the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election.

Michael Shanks became Labour's first candidate to win a seat from the SNP at a by-election after Margaret Ferrier was suspended from Parliament for breaching COVID rules in 2020.
