A shooting at a high school graduation ceremony in Richmond, Virginia left an 18-year-old male and a 36-year-old male dead. Police said the 18-year-old victim was attending his graduation. Police also said a 19-year-old suspect is in custody and will be charged with two counts of second degree murder.

Five other people suffered gunshot wounds in the shooting outside a downtown theater near near Virginia Commonwealth University. The injured victims ages range from 14-years-old to 58-years-old.

A 9-year-old was also struck by a car during the chaos following the shooting. Five other people also reported non-gunshot injuries, including a fall and anxiety.

Police initially said two suspects were in custody. The police chief clarified that only one suspect is believed to be involved in the shooting. The other person was detained and released.
