Minister Johnny Mercer has made a jibe at Labour's newly elected MP comparing him to The Inbetweeners.

Keir Mather, 25, has become the youngest MP in the Commons after winning the Selby and Ainsty by-election, overturning a 20,137 majority.

Mr Mercer criticised the MP's lack of life experience, saying he was someone who recited "Labour lines."
