Home Secretary James Cleverly has said the UK is "disrupting the work of the gangs" involved in the "illegal small boat crossings", both "domestically in the UK and internationally".

Mr Cleverly said the "people who are being smuggled are seen as just product", adding that the government has to everything they can to break the people smuggling gangs' business model.
