Authorities in Hawaii say more than 1,000 people remain missing nearly two weeks after the Lahaina fire.

Honolulu FBI Special Agent in Charge Steven Merrill says the list of unaccounted people now stands at 1,100 people. Maui County Mayor Richard Bissen previously said there were about 850 people still missing. Merrill said the additional number is due to the consolidation of multiple lists or accounts of the missing.

115 people have been confirmed dead in the fires. Officials are urging families to provide DNA samples to assist in the identification process.
