Catherine McKinnell, Labour's shadow schools minister, has said she is "worried about the timing" of a police investigation into Angela Rayner ahead of the local elections.

She was asked about reports Greater Manchester Police are investigating Labour's deputy leader Ms Rayner over her living arrangements - on multiple allegations.

We know that she is under investigation over whether she broke electoral law, but any further details are unclear.
