Liz Kendall, the shadow work and pensions secretary, has said Labour will "fight to win back Rochdale" in the general election after losing the seat in last week's by-election.

Asked what she would say to Rochdale MP George Galloway if she spotted him in parliament, Ms Kendall said: "I won't say anything to him."
