Israel's defence minister Yoav Gallant has told troops at the Gaza border they will soon see Gaza "from the inside", his office has said, in what appears to be a suggestion the ground offensive is nearing.

Former British military intelligence officer Philip Ingram expects the IDF to enter Gaza "at the earliest this weekend" but the IDF will attack a "prepared ambush" amid the reported long network of underground tunnels.
