Israel's Opposition Leader Yair Lapid has spoken to Sky News about the unified government's approach to Hamas, saying: "We are united and we have no choice but to protect ourselves."

He also said "we are fighting for our lives", with "the strongest army in the region and we will react as strongly as necessary to any provocations".
