IDF international spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner has denied ordering people in al Shifa Hospital or Khan Younis to evacuate and said the south of Gaza is "safer" for people.

Lieutenant Colonel Lerner said "Hamas are hiding behind civilians" and that there's no time limit on ground operations within Gaza - adding it will likely be "a long battle".
