TV conservationist Chris Packham has accused ITV's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! of "exploiting and abusing animals" for entertainment.

The presenter said the show's format was "outdated" and "belonged to another era".

I'm a Celeb has been criticised in the past for asking contestants to eat or interact with animals and insects in the bushtucker trials.

The show pits "celebrities" against each other in a jungle camp in Australia, with contestants taking part in the trials to win more food for the group.
