Hurricane Idalia continues to strengthen as it approaches landfall on Florida's Gulf Coast. Now, a category two hurricane, Idalia is expected to pick up more speed as it is fueled by warm waters.

While officials are preparing for heavy storm surge, some surfers in the area took the opportunity to ride the biggest surf they’ve seen in several years.

LiveNOW's Andrew Craft spoke with FOX 13 Tampa reporter Justin Matthews about the current conditions at Clearwater Beach.
