Head of Crime and Justice at Policy Exchange, David Spencer and Professor Jonathan Shepherd from Cardiff University's security, crime and intelligence innovation institute, discuss knife crime in the UK and the statistics.

Jonathan Shepherd says 'we are safer now than we used to be' and police statistics show 'there is a 5% lower number of knife offences in 2023 compared to 2022'.

David Spencer says the issue 'requires leadership from the very top of government and it is only with that that we will start to see these kinds of terrible scenes fewer and fewer'.
