Police investigating the notorious Gilgo Beach murders announced Friday that have identified the victim previously known as Jane Doe No. 7 as a 34-year-old Manhattan woman.
Karen Vergata was identified as the remains almost three decades after her legs were found in a plastic bag at Davis Park on Fire Island’s Blue Point Beach on April 20, 1996.
