Ex-Tory adviser says relationship between ministers and civil servants is "dysfunctional"

Former political adviser to the Conservative Party, Salma Shah, has told Sophy Ridge that the relationship between ministers and civil servants is "quite dysfunctional".

She said: "There is this kind of culture war split about who is on Dominic Raab's side and who is on the civil service side.

"That is not the right conversation to have in my view, there's a couple of steps back from this.

"We all need to take a bit of a step back and reflect on really, where is this dysfunction?"
