On the same day Special Counsel Jack Smith unsealed the federal indictment against former President Donald Trump, 2024 presidential hopeful and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis mentioned classified documents while speaking to the crowd at the Republican North Carolina state convention.

"Is there a different standard for a Democratic Secretary of State versus a former Republican President," DeSantis asked. "I think there needs to be one standard of justice in this country, let's enforce it on everyone."
