Science secretary Michelle Donelan has rejected suggestions the Conservative Party is becoming more right-wing.

Her comments to Sophy Ridge came on the day home secretary Suella Braverman told the Tory party conference the country was facing a "hurricane" of migration.

Ms Donelan said Conservatives were rejecting "wokeism" and putting forward "common sense" policies.

She also rejected as "speculation" a Sky News report that HS2 high-speed rail trains will continue to run on existing track from Birmingham to Manchester.
