Tobias Ellwood, the Tory MP and chair of the defence select committee, has told Sky News that the Tory party is "up against it" with Labour consistently ahead in the national polls.

When asked about former prime minister, the senior Tory MP praised Boris Johnson's "phenomenal" presence on the political stage but maintained "that adulation has now turned to massive frustration and indeed disappointment as he deserts the political battlefield."
