Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald has said the conflict in the Middle East is at "a tipping point" and "words are not enough" from the US.

Speaking to Sky's senior Ireland correspondent David Blevins ahead of the annual White House reception to mark St. Patrick's Day, Ms McDonald said there is an "absolute, unanswerable need for a ceasefire" in the Israel-Hamas war.

She added that America has "got it badly, dangerously wrong" and must now take a "firm position" with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government.
