It's estimated more than 250,000 people in the UK have ME, sometimes called chronic fatigue syndrome, which leaves patients with debilitating and persistent exhaustion.

Results of the largest study into the disease have shown that women are more likely to suffer from ME and have more symptoms as well as severe co-occurring conditions.
