The BBC licence fee will rise by £10.50 next year.

The fee, which had been frozen at £159 two years ago, was expected to rise in line with inflation.

But Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer has said the predicted increase of £15 would be too much and is launching a review of the BBC's funding model.

The governing body of the BBC has said the below-inflation rise will “have a significant impact on the wider creative sector across the UK”.
So what would a new funding model look like, and what does this mean for the future of the BBC?

On today’s episode of the Sky News Daily Podcast, Niall Paterson looks at the options and speaks to the former director of BBC News on TV, Roger Mosey.
