A British-built satellite is set to fall into the Atlantic Ocean in what's being called an "assisted re-entry".

In a ground-breaking mission, the European Space Agency will guide the craft back down from orbit in stages.

It's hoped the mission will serve as a turning point for how spacecraft are managed at the end of their use.
