A Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place on the West Lawn of the US Capitol, marking a more than 50-year tradition.

This year's tree is a 63-foot Norway spruce from the Greenbrier Ranger District in West Virginia's Monongahela National Forest.

The Capitol Christmas tree will be lit from sunset until 11pm each day until January 1 2024.
