Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made a journey to near the frontline in eastern Ukraine and one of his top defence officials has suggested Kyiv is set to de-occupy Crimea.

Meanwhile, Russian president Vladimir Putin has been hosting leaders of African nations in a summit this week in a bid to strengthen international ties.
