Severe weather warnings are in place in parts of England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland this evening as Storm Babet sweeps the UK. There is a risk to life in places and in Brechin in Scotland, residents have been told to evacuate.

Sky's Tom Clarke has dug deeper into the unusual nature of Storm Babet, as a high-pressure system north of Scandinavia is blocking the storm over northern England and eastern Scotland.
