American author and journalist Lionel Shriver says she is "distressed" about what is happening to Britain.

The UK citizen tells Trevor Phillips that she is "despairing on Britain's account" as the country seems to have adopted the conflicts of another country - the US.

Asked what she thinks about some government decisions, such as Rishi Sunak wanting to stop people from smoking, she described Britain as a "heavy-handed nanny state".
