Donald Trump says he will cut short a golf trip to Scotland and Ireland to return to New York where a civil rape case against him is being heard.

The former US president said he would "probably" attend the hearing.

Former magazine columnist E Jean Carroll claims Mr Trump attacked her in a department store dressing room in 1996 - he denies the allegation.

She is pursuing a civil case against him in New York but Mr Trump has so far refused to attend, saying he was honouring a long-term appointment in Scotland and Ireland.
