The total solar eclipse has been experienced in Indianapolis where Sky's Martha Kelner witnessed the moment.

The moon crossed paths with the sun, shielding light for a matter of minutes before crashing the region into complete darkness.

A total solar eclipse has not hit Indianapolis since the 13th century, with another hundred or so years until the next one is due to take place.
