Health secretary Victoria Atkins has given her reaction to the strike overnight telling Sky's Trevor Phillips it was a "significant attack by Iran on Israel".

She also said "it is a huge relief to everyone concerned that the reports from Israel suggest that the injuries and the cost to the local population is as small as it appears to be at the moment".

Ms Atkins added that the UK wants to ensure "that this does not escalate", and the message is that "we have to contain this".
