The Texas Supreme Court temporarily blocked a pregnant woman from getting an emergency abortion. The court froze a lower court’s ruling that would have allowed Kate Cox to obtain the procedure.
Cox is 20 weeks pregnant. Her unborn baby was diagnosed with a fatal genetic condition and isn't expected to live more than a few days outside the womb, according to her lawsuit. Cox has argued that the pregnancy is putting her health and future ability to have children at risk.
