U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller is briefing the press as tensions in the Middle East are still rising Thursday over Israel's relentless strikes on Gaza — and warring narratives on what happened at the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday night, where Palestinian officials say an explosion killed hundreds of people. The U.S. and Israeli officials said that evidence shows the explosion was caused by a rocket fired by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group that fell short of its target.
