Russia’s Central Election Commission endorses the final results of the presidential election at a meeting in Moscow.

It comes as Vladimir Putin begins another six years in power after winning the election last weekend with over 85% of the vote.

The result was never in doubt and the process was largely perfunctory after any credible opposition was banned from taking part.
