Repatriation flights have begun returning hundreds of British holidaymakers from Rhodes where a wildfire has swept across the island, burning down properties and hotels.

Asked how many British people are currently there, Foreign Office minister Andrew Mitchell told Sky News: "It's difficult to be absolutely sure, the figure is between 7,000 and 10,000."
