The Prince of Wales has thanked well-wishers for cards for Princess Kate as he returned to official duties for the first time since she revealed her cancer diagnosis.

In a video address on 22 March, The Princess of Wales asked for space and privacy. Since then, William has spent three-and-a-half weeks with her and their children.
