Rishi Sunak has released a statement as the Princess of Wales reveals that she is receiving treatment for cancer and is undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

The prime minister says that in recent weeks she has been subjected to "intense scrutiny" and that "she must be afforded the privacy to focus on her treatment and be with her loving family."
