Rishi Sunak has insisted the governments "plans are working" following the budget, which he says will "make the average household better off."

The prime minister was speaking from South Yorkshire, where he also reiterated his "long-term ambition" to scrap national insurance after the chancellor announced another 2p cut in the budget.
